Donate your eggs and turn your kindness into beginnings. Start your journey today.

Each year in the UK, thousands of women and couples learn that they are unable to conceive using their own eggs and require the assistance of an egg donor to start a family.
At the heart of egg donation is the desire to help someone fulfil their dream of having a family, but there are many reasons for this invaluable gift, which are often personal and unique to our donors. Whatever your reason, your kindness can significantly impact someone’s life.
For our donors, egg donation is driven by the desire to help individuals or couples struggling with infertility and give them the opportunity to experience the joy of parenthood.
In the UK, the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority (HFEA) sets egg donation compensation per completed donation cycle for your time and expenses.
There’s no feeling quite like knowing you’ve profoundly impacted someone’s life. Egg donation can provide donors with immense personal satisfaction and empowerment.
As part of the egg donation process, donors undergo health checks, which provide insight into your own fertility and reproductive health, allowing you to contemplate your future fertility.
Discover the compassion, dedication, and life-changing experiences that make our egg donors truly exceptional. These inspiring stories provide real-life experiences for anyone considering egg donation, highlighting the incredible impact it has on families.

The egg donation process involves six steps, from the moment you make your application to receiving compensation for a completed donation.
At Egg Donors UK, our team will support you through each step, which involves your initial screenings, counselling, and a sedated egg collection. Throughout your egg donation cycle, your care will be in the hands of our experienced clinical, nursing, and support teams.
We genuinely value our egg donors and the gift they provide. It's part of why we go to such lengths to ensure our donors are completely supported throughout their journey with us. The first step of your journey is to complete our short application form to ensure you meet our criteria and confirm your interest.
We will email you to confirm you are happy to proceed and arrange a call with one of our friendly Donor Programme Assistants, Summer or Rebecca. They will discuss the process in more detail, explain what's involved and answer any questions you have.
After you've had your call, our team will explain your next steps. You must meet specific criteria to become an egg donor, so we will also arrange for you to undergo some initial screening tests at a centre local to you to ensure you can donate.
These will include booking you for a blood test and transvaginal ultrasound scan to analyse your Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) level, which indicates your ovarian reserve, also known as your egg reserve. We will also do a screen for nicotine, as egg donors must be non-smokers.
You will also be asked a few questions about your family's genetic medical history to ensure you are healthy and have no hereditary medical conditions.
If the tests confirm your eligibility to become a donor, you will be invited to a mandatory counselling session to discuss the legal aspects and other important implications of becoming an egg donor. Most donors use the session to discuss and further explore the donation process. Our team will also arrange for you to meet virtually with a specialist fertility consultant or nurse, who will discuss your family medical history with you and ensure that you have no inheritable conditions that could be passed on to any child born from your donation, which includes additional blood tests.
Our dedicated Nursing Team will carefully plan your donation cycle and invite you to a virtual preparation appointment, where you will learn to self-administer the required medication. To monitor your progress, you'll need approximately 2 – 3 in-clinic appointments leading up to your egg collection. Also, you will be asked to produce a 'pen picture' and 'goodwill message'. These are messages to give the recipient of your eggs, and ultimately the child born from your donation, an understanding of who you are as a person. Writing your egg donor pen picture and goodwill message is often one of the most intimate parts of the egg donation process, and our donors often like to invest time in ensuring they are perfect. Our accommodating team will provide support and guidance if needed.
On the day of your egg collection, you will be invited to our state-of-the-art clinic in South Manchester, where you will be welcomed by our team. Our nursing staff will be on hand to help you prepare. In preparation for your procedure, you'll be given sedation to ensure you're comfortable. The good news is that you won't have to stay at the clinic overnight despite receiving sedation. Instead, you will be ready to go home after a short rest and a check-up with our clinical team. We do ask that you don't drive yourself anywhere for at least 24 hours after your procedure, so please ensure you arrange for someone to collect you from the clinic.
After your donation, we will monitor your recovery, ensuring you have everything you need for the last stages of the journey. You will undergo some final screening tests approximately three months after your donation. By this stage of your journey, you will have received compensation for your completed donation, covering your time and any expenses incurred for each appointment.
In the UK, egg donor eligibility is determined by specific criteria to ensure the health and safety of both donors and recipients. Those who have the ability to donate eggs must:
Be aged between 18 and 35 years old
Have a BMI (Body Mass Index) between 19 and 32
Be a non-smoker (includes other nicotine-based products)
Be able to provide a thorough family medical history
Have a clear medical history with no genetic or hereditary disorders
Be willing to be identifiable to any child born using your eggs

At Egg Donors UK, we are committed to making your donation journey as easy as possible.
During egg donation, frequent clinic visits are necessary. We understand that travelling long distances for appointments isn’t always convenient for donors. With our expanded network, your initial tests and scans can be carried out a local facility which means travelling to our clinic in Manchester is kept to a minimum.

To become an egg donor, you must meet the following criteria:
Your body mass index (BMI) is a measure that uses your height and weight to work out if your weight is healthy.
Due to the risks to egg quality caused by nicotine, smokers cannot be accepted as egg donors. When you apply to become an egg donor, we ask you if you smoke, and we will test your urine for nicotine at your appointments.
If you used to smoke or are trying to stop smoking, you must have no nicotine in your system for at least three months before your donation application. You should then be free from the effects of nicotine, including e-cigarettes, as they still contain nicotine.
You can still donate if you are adopted, but you will need to know the full medical history of your biological family on both your maternal and paternal sides until your grandparents. As long as you meet all the other requirements, being adopted won’t affect you being accepted onto our donor programme.
While there is no direct payment for donating your eggs, you will be compensated for your time. Women who become egg donors will receive £985 for each completed donation cycle. This covers any expenses for attending each appointment.
The medication is given in the form of injections and you will be required to administer the injections yourself at home. You will attend an appointment with a fertility nurse who will teach you how to administer the injections in the right way. This appointment is called a ‘prep appointment’ and can be done virtually or in person at the clinic to meet your preference.
Some donors can find aspects of the egg donation process uncomfortable, but any discomfort can be managed with over-the-counter medication such as paracetamol.
